might have missed it, but will the recording be sent out to us or would it be good for me to take notes?

19:09
Does it cost extra money to set up student accounts?
Stacey Ridgeway ๐Ÿ’™
19:19
Discovery Education offers multiple user management options to simplify student and teacher access to Discovery Education. Review these user management options here: https://help.discoveryeducation.com/user-management

Amy Eustice
20:25
Stacey will this recording be sent out to us via email, or do we go to that link to locate it?
Stacey Ridgeway ๐Ÿ’™
21:13
@Amy, sorry missed that part of your question! I believe these recordings are located in the archive area of the Events page. Iโ€™ll confirm with Patti before we leave today :)
kimmalzone
21:30
I added the names of my kids myself. Is that also the way to do it?
Amy Eustice
21:51
ok thanks! Is there a way to import a list of students or do we have to put them in manually for each class?
Donna Magee
22:14
What is the 800 number, please?
Stacey Ridgeway ๐Ÿ’™
22:16
@kimmalzone, you can manually create your students but your school or district may also have a plan to import students and classes
kimmalzone
22:42
Ok. We are a small school, so I think we just do it individually as not all of us use this resource

23:24
@Louis, yes! Thatโ€™s a โ€œpro tipโ€ when it comes to assigning resources to differentiate instruction.
Donna Magee
23:32
Thank you
Ryia.Waldern
23:44
If you batch all your students in one class might you have issues with inspire because a board can only be shared by 28 students at a time right? Has that been changed?
Stacey Ridgeway ๐Ÿ’™
24:57
@Ryia, if Patti doesnโ€™t cover that while sheโ€™s on the Sharing topic, Iโ€™ll be sure to ask for you.
Donna Magee
25:05
So if we set up a class, students will not need to put it a password, correct?
Stacey Ridgeway ๐Ÿ’™
25:59
@Donna, not necessarily. Depending on how students will be logging in to Discovery Ed, they will have passwords.
Stacey Ridgeway ๐Ÿ’™
26:20
@Louis, yes! Patti is covering that now.
Stacey Ridgeway ๐Ÿ’™
27:30
@Chanice, no, the shared links will route the colleague to the Discovery Ed sign-in page so they would need to have an account.
Amy Eustice
29:21
does the teacher have a way to see how long student spent on the assignment before they marked it complete?
Donna Magee
30:10
Do I assign each student a username and password when I set up each class?
Stacey Ridgeway ๐Ÿ’™
31:13
@Donna, yes once you have a class created, youโ€™ll be able to add students. If your school/district hasnโ€™t already imported students, you can manually create students as well.
Donna Magee
31:23
Thank you

Ryia.Waldern
34:13
Is there a limit on how many can collaborate on a board?
Stacey Ridgeway ๐Ÿ’™
34:36
@Amy, length of time spent on an assignment is not calculated and reported at this time.
Donna Magee
35:26
Can you repeat how we see the studentโ€™s view?
Stacey Ridgeway ๐Ÿ’™
36:32
@Donna, this part of the Help Center should answer that question and provide some other review: https://help.discoveryeducation.com/begin-student-experience
Donna Magee
36:42
Ok, thanks
Amy Eustice
37:54
If it is done collaboratively and one student submits, does that mean that the other students will be unable to work on it anymore?
Amy Eustice
38:22
Will we see anything on the virtual field trip?
Stacey Ridgeway ๐Ÿ’™
40:22
@Amy, archived virtual field trips function very similarly to video resources. If youโ€™re able to attend a virtual field trip live, it will be a more interactive experience.
smmckenna
40:58
My School has accounts for all students. When students sign in, will they see their "classes" like google classroom, or will they see all assignments from all teachers. It is hard for me to tell from the student's dashboard seen here
Stacey Ridgeway ๐Ÿ’™
41:24
@Louis, yes, thereโ€™s plenty of ELA resources in Discovery Ed. Try searching by Subject or by Standard.
Stacey Ridgeway ๐Ÿ’™
42:16
@smmckenna, your students will first see any assignments teachers have given them. Then they see the content and tools.
Esther
43:17
Sorry that I forgot to add: Esther Marin, SLP at University H.S.
Stacey Ridgeway ๐Ÿ’™
43:49
@Louis, absolutely! There are some virtual field trips that have pre-built classroom materials or you can create your own in Studio.
Ryia.Waldern
44:05
I was told only 28 could work on a board at a time by the call line
Amy Eustice
45:12
do you assign the same collaborative assignment to 4 different groups of 4-5 students?
Amy Eustice
46:04
will the collaborative workers be able to see each others work?
Stacey Ridgeway ๐Ÿ’™
49:17
@Eneida, yes, World Languages too!
