@Richard, the juxtaposition of teacher shortage and decreasing enrollment is so tough - yet, funding structures in response have not changed.
Adrianne McKerrow
01:18:11
I have seen quite a bit of equity work in the high school and unit districts near us, but I’m wondering what our panelists have seen in terms of success in the elementary school districts.
Mike Franklin
01:19:08
One challenge in recruiting educators for rural areas is that educators are concerned that their partners won't be able to find suitable employment in the area. Has the move towards remote work for many workers helped with this at all?
Darius Long, Athletic Director
01:20:01
Understanding the community is really necessary. When the students, families feel connected to the teachers and staff of the school really helps with engagement. But this means meeting them where they are. Many families in our community struggle with housing, transportation the basics. So we try to make sure we are trying to be understanding to those challenges. Student Support Coordinator/AD Maureen Joy Charter School in Durham, NC.
Susan Mittler NYSED Regent J.D. 6

Dr. Melissa Sadorf, Superintendent, Stanfield Elementary SD, AZ

@Susan, each District can select their own instrument. Most use the CoGAT or Raven.
Dr. Christina Kishimoto, Voice4Equity, Founder and CEO
01:29:57
@Aaron - using the data that one child is struggling to check in on all siblings is a fantastic strategy!
Lydia Tedone
